Washington,D.C. October 24, 2016

The Vice-President of the National Education Foundation, Dr. Art Stellar, has been selected to serve on the National Association for Gifted Children’s Development Committee. “NAGC welcomes Art Stellar to the Development Committee. With the support of leaders like Art, we will achieve our shared vision of having all gifted and talented children fully recognized, universally valued and actively nurtured so that they achieve their personal best” said M. Rene Islas, Executive Director of NAGC.

Appointed in time for a conference call of the Development Committee in September, Dr. Stellar will attend the NAGC annual convocation in Orlando, Florida in November for his first in-person meeting. The Development Committee sets out to raise funds to meet the organization’s goals.

Dr. Stellar has been a life member in the National Association of Gifted Children throughout his career, as well as being an advocate for gifted children in his various educational leadership roles.

“Those of us at the National Education Foundation are proud of Dr. Stellar for being appointed to this important role for gifted children,” stated Dr. Appu Kuttan, Chairman of the National Education Foundation. “Through his promotion of expanded use of Qualified Zone Academy Bonds (QZAB) in low income schools across the country, he demonstrates how excellence can be achieved by all students including the gifted,”

Dr. Stellar has extensive experience with development activities for various educational organizations including Ohio University, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Delta Pi, the Horace Mann League, the National Dropout Presentation Center, etc. He has helped form six school foundations and raised funds for school systems in a variety of ways. He has also raised funds for civic organizations such as Rotary, United Way, Boy Scouts, etc.

“We donate to schools interested in pursuing QZAB the same high quality software Dr. Stellar has used”, added Dr. Kuttan. “We have seen dozens and dozens of schools we work with realize huge gains – over a year’s progress for the first time ever”. We have designed a system capable of helping all students reach excellence which is a goal of NAGC,” continued Dr. Kuttan.
